Hi, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Christina and I am the owner of Extra Sugar Bakery, located in sunny South Florida. I would like to start blogging so you could get to know me and my brand a little better. I’ll share inside information on my creative process, how I design a cupcake, and life as an entrepreneur. I love writing and to be honest, I feel like IG is more picture and video focused. So, here is my own space to write and connect with you.
You may have noticed, I have not been as active on IG for the past few weeks. I was not posting as much as I have been before and I wasn’t mad at it. I really wasn’t sure why I was feeling disconnected and unmotivated. Wanting to get out of this rut, I decided to make some changes. I started listening to podcasts, reading books, and meditation. I started using any driving time that I had to listen to podcasts. Instead of scrolling on my phone for 25 minutes in the morning, I read a book. When I started to feel anxiety, I meditated. I truly appreciate those of you who reached out to me to see if I was okay. I love my # club extra tribe.
After listening to and injesting all of this new information, I realized that I have anxiety to cakes. This may sound silly but it is the truth. I listened to what my heart and soul was telling me and I took action. This is why I'm taking a break from cakes. Thinking about cakes would annoy me and I dreaded it. I noticed that I absolutely love to bake cupcakes. No tension, just pure joy and feeling creative.
What am I going to do about it?
So, I decided to take ACTION in my business and take cakes OFF of my menu. Taking cakes off of my menu was a difficult decision but one that had to be made. Taking control of my own life and business is the best feeling in the world. I want to thoroughly enjoy making the products that my customers order. When I enjoy making the cupcakes, they taste better. My secret ingredient is LOVE and you really can taste the difference. It makes me so happy to be able to share cupcakes with all of you.
Have you ever noticed that you have anxiety or tension about something going on in your life? Tension could be from a job, family, friends. Whatever it is, you CAN change it. It may be hard and confusing at first, but keep pushing. Listen to the voice inside your head, not what others say to you. It truthfully does NOT matter what anyone else says, what matters is how you feel. Your mental health is important for you to stay healthy and live a long happy life.
